I just made it
into the generation of daughters whose mothers always had a classic scent. I
like to think of our moms as the “Chanel N.5” generation.
They bought a perfume and replenished year after year. It
was their scent and it defined them.
Today, many of my girlfriends have an entire table of perfumes
or at least a handful of different options. We have an everyday scent, a going
out scent, a scent to be playful, a scent to be sexy… we always smell
good.
But I long for that “Chanel N.5” generation.
I want to have a classic scent that when you walk by a
similar smell, you think of me. (And I only partially mean bubblegum.)
A few months back I received the text, “Just walked by
a girl that smelled just like you! Thought it was you for a sec.”
THAT! That is what I want. Everyday.
I’ve been on the search for a while and over a year
ago I stumbled upon Burberry for Women and have been wearing it daily since.
Burberry for Women is a fruity oriental fragrance that is fresh and sensual, capturing the understated elegance of the brand's heritage. Top notes of black currant, bergamot and green apple open up to embrace a heart of cedarwood, jasmine, moss and sandalwood. Base notes of musk and vanilla round out the scent, making it warm and voluptuous.
Last week, one of my former team members gave me a new
perfume to try, Miss Dior.
Discover Miss Dior Eau Fraîche, a dazzlingly fresh interpretation of Parisian charm and elegance. Miss Dior Eau Fraîche is a fresh chypre with bright bergamot and gardenia notes underscored by the elegance of Indonesian patchouli.
The Miss Dior Eau Fraîche woman has a spontaneous attitude and a natural elegance.
Of course I am a sucker for that description.
If you see me… smell me. Burberry fits me very well.
It is subtle and femininely musky. I don’t want to give up my “Chanel
N.5” for just anything… or a witty description and pretty bottle.
Sidenote: I hate the word “smell.”
In my head it has such a negative connotation.
